Influence of inhibitors of DNA repair and replication on 2-C14-thymidine incorporation into DNA of pea roots after γ-irradiation
Description
Peculiarities of DNA synthesis in γ-irradiated pea roots in the post-irradiation period have been investigated. An additional DNA synthesis was observed 24 hours after irradiation. Using inhibitors of the replicative (hydroxyurea and mitomycin C) and reparative (caffeine and acriflavine) syntheses of DNA, as well as the postirradiation incubation without saccharose, the authors have demonstrated that the additional DNA synthesis is due to both the reparative and the replicative syntheses of DNA
