Determination of neptunium from luminescence of CaF2:Np crystallophosphor in visible spectral region

Description

A study was made on neptunium luminescence (L) in 400-850 nm region in the series of crystallophosphors for the purpose of their analytic application. It was established that crystallophosphor on the basis of CaF2 radiated in the visible spectrum region and was characterized by some advantages for Np determination. Pulsed mitrogen laser was used for L excitation. The dependence of L intensity on Np fraction of total mass in CaF2 was linear within the limits of 0.005-10 mln-1. Np detection limit was equal to 5x10-4 mln-1 with respect to CaF2. Influence of impurities on neptunium L intensity in CVaF2 was investigated. Relative standard deviation of Np determination in the solution, containing 10 g/l U, 5 g/l Pu and 10 mg/l Np was equal to 0.09. 8 refs.; 3 figs.; 2 tabs
