Description
The behaviour of americium at concentrations between 10-10 and 10-2 M in a citrate medium of ionic strength 0.1 was studied by solvent extraction and potentiometric methods. Various complexes were identified and their formation constants were determined. The spectra of some of the complexes, especially Am(cit)23- and (Am(OH)(cit))22-, were recorded and analysed and crystalline citrates of americium were prepared. (Auth.)
