Radioactive wastes processing method

Description

The present invention provides a method of processing radioactive wastes, in which the amount of radioactive nuclides such as Co and Cs incorporated in each of molten solidification materials can be determined accurately. A radioactivity level at the boundary surface between a ceramic layer and a metal layer is determined for each of the molten solidification products formed by melting and solidifying miscellaneous radioactive solid wastes containing non-metals and metals, and the measured values of the radioactivity of the molten solidification products are compensated based on the above-mentioned level to calculate the amount of incorporated nuclides. As a result, since the difference of the self shielding effect between each portion is taken into consideration, calculation can be conducted accurately. (T.M.)
