Radioprotectors: studies on antiradiation effects of some phosphorus compounds

  • 1. Beijing Inst. of Radiation medicine (China)

Description

In order to search for novel radioprotectors, twenty-eight types of phosphorus compounds were prepared, characterized and tested in mice or rats for radioprotective potency. Among these compounds, ten agents, i.e. 0, 0'-dimethylphos phoryl cyanide (1a), tetra-isobutyl pyrophosphate (2b), N-(2-bromoethyl)-0, 0'-diisopropylphosphoramide (3b) and aminoalkylthiophosphoric acids (5a, b, c, e, g-i), showed significant protective effect on mice, and five agents, i.e. N-(2-bromoethyl)-0, 0'-diisobutyl phosphoramide (3g) and tetraalkyl monoethiopyrophosphates (4b, c, d, e) showed therapeutic effect on rats. Structure-effect relationship and possible mechanism of antiradiation effect of these agent are discussed
