Television systems for inspection and maintenance in nuclear plants
Description
Television camera systems are required to undertake complex viewing tasks in nuclear installations. Careful selection of electronic components and materials, together with circuits designed to accommodate parameter changes with radiation, enable cameras to operate after absorbed doses exceeding 108 rads (gamma)a. The type of image sensor determines the dose rate before picture noise becomes unacceptable. The absorbed dose at which the transmission of a standard glass lens becomes unacceptable varies with dose rate. Non-browning lenses are available. (author)
