Method of nuclide-specific determination of the activity concentration of the radionuclides contained in gas stream using gamma spectroscopy

Description

A method is described to determine the activities in waste gases from nuclear power plants caused by radionuclides using gamma spectroscopy. A part of the gas stream is branched off and fed to a high-pressure vessel via a compressor, so that the measurement (with Ge(Li) detector) can be carried out at high pressure. The gas is recycled via a restrictor. The method is described in detail. (HP)

Abstract (German)

Es wird ein Verfahren beschrieben, mit dem die durch Radionuklide hervorgerufenen Aktivitaeten in Abgasen von Kernkraftwerken mit Hilfe der Gammaspektroskopie bestimmt werden koennen. Ein Teil des Gasstroms wird abgezweigt und ueber einen Kompressor einem Hochdruckbehaelter zugefuehrt, sodass die Messung (mit Ge(Li)-Detektor) bei hohem Druck vorgenommen werden kann. Ueber eine Drosselstelle wird das Gas wieder zurueckgefuehrt. Das Verfahren ist im Einzelnen beschrieben. (HP)
