Total stopping power formulae for low energy electrons
- 1. Physics Department, S.V. College, Aligarh (India)
Description
Simple empirical formulae for total stopping power of low energy electrons in matter have been derived from theory reported by Berger and Seltzer. The formulae are valid for electrons of kinetic energy from 1 to 800 keV in absorbers of atomic number from Z=1 to 92. The present formulae yield good approximate values of the total stopping power for electrons in absorbers, like elements and compounds. The calculated values are compared with the theoretical value reported so far. (author). 10 refs., 2 figs
