French industry faced with current trends in the nuclear programme

Description

The slowing down in the rate of the French electronuclear programme which has occurred in recent years has led the builders of power plants to re-adjust their activities. The authors show how Framatome and Alsthom have followed this trend, by gearing their efforts towards maintenance and service activities while at the same time preserving their design and building skills

Le ralentissement du rythme du programme electronucleaire francais depuis quelques annees, a conduit les constructeurs de centrales a un reamenagement de leurs activites. Les auteurs montrent comment Framatome et Alsthom se sont engages dans cette evolution, en deployant leurs efforts vers les activites de maintenance et de services tout en preservant leur competence de concepteur et de constructeur
