Description
Full-text: The Computed Tomography (CT) has been widely used in medical, science and industries. It is a powerful non-invasive imaging technique. A three-dimensional of CT is capable to analyse the internal structures of the object by different the density profile of the object without physically section it. The inspection of inner structure of materials is crucial in safety and quality elements in industry. This process of inspection must be done very accurately and in efficient manner. The purpose of this research is to study the performance of the battery's indication using X-ray tomography imaging. In this research, flat panel detector and portable x-ray are used to scan two different AAA batteries which is a new battery and used battery. The process involved in this research consists of three steps which are device setup, sample scanning and image reconstruction using Octopus software. All of the equipment which are the detector, rotating table and the portable X-ray were set in one plane. The samples were rotated 360 degrees, where the interval is one degree. The movement of the rotary motion of the sample was controlled by XY Table software and the rotating motor. The x-ray through the sample will be detected by the flat panel detector. The image analysis of CT image will be carried out to analyze the battery performance. Hence, by using X-ray tomography, the performance of battery indication can be obtained. (author)
