Synthesis and x-ray diffraction study of the NaZr2(PO4)3 and CePO4-type structure orthophosphates of complex cationic composition

Description
Ceramic phosphate compositions, containing cations Ca2+, Cd2+, Gd3+, Ti4+, Hf4+, Ce4+, U4+, Pu4+, were synthesized, their X-ray diffraction study was conducted to consider the properties of potential matrix materials for immobilization of plutonium-containing nuclear waste. It was ascertained that phosphate containing cations Ti4+ and Hf4+ form two-phase products. One of the phases was referred to NaZr2(PO4)3, structural type, the other - to monazite (CePO4) type. Influence of cation composition on phase formation, as well as of the size of cations on crystal lattice parameters of the phases formed, was determined

С целью изучения свойств потенциальных матричных материалов для иммобилизации плутонийсодержащих ядерных отходов проведен синтез и выполнено рентгенографическое исследование керамических фосфатных композиций, содержащих катионы Ca2+, Cd2+, Gd3+, Ti4+, Hf4+, Ce4+, U4+, Pu4+. Установлено, что фосфаты, содержащие катионы Ti4+ и Hf4+, образуют двухфазные продукты. Одна из фаз отнесена к структурному типу NaZr2(PO4)3, другая - к типу монацита (CePO4). Определено влияние катионного состава на фазообразование, а также влияние размеров катионов на параметры кристаллических решеток образующихся фазAdditional details
