5S implementation: Optimization of safety, health, and working performance

  • 1. Pusat Penelitian Sistem Mutu dan Teknologi Pengujian, Serpong (Indonesia)

Description

Working optimization and safety are the benefits that can be obtained by implementing 5S. This method is applied in research group environment and aims to organize research working environment including research resources. The implementation was begun by the establishment of a working model which exists in research group as a reference to form 5S structure. The implementation of 5S in research group is expected to create an effective working environment and research resources management which affect to quality improvement of research output. Furthermore, 5S implementation in research group is also expected to positively affect researchers' safety by establishing a safe working environment and avoiding potential hazard. This 5S implementation model can be used in other research group contexts. (author)
