Reduction of electron thermal conductivity by ion acoustic turbulence

  • 1. Institute of Cosmic Research, Academy of Sciences of the USSR

Description

A self-consistent solution is found for the quasilinear interaction of electrons with ion acoustic turbulence excited in a plasma with a large temperature gradient. This interaction imposes an upper limit on the heat flux as the temperature gradient is increased. This limit and the level of the ion acoustic turbulence. are found as functions of the plasma properties
