Overview of a draft of new maintenance standards
Description
One of the topics on structural standards in Japan is the completion of a draft of new maintenance standards which covers inservice inspection (ISI), flaw evaluation and repair procedures. This paper describes the background of Japan's current structural codes and standards, the necessity of introducing flaw evaluation, and the outline of the activities of developing the draft of maintenance standards in the Japan Power Engineering Inspection Corporation. The essential features of the draft of maintenance standards for ISI, flaw evaluation, and repair technologies, respectively, and future activities for updating the draft of maintenance standards are presented.
