Process for checking the gas pressure inside a nuclear fuel rod
Description
The fuel rod contains fuel tablets and is at a gas pressure of about 35 bar. For quality control purposes, one end of the rod is brought to a measuring chamber and is drilled there by a laser beam. A pressure measurement is then carried out by the zero comparison measuring process, where helium at a known pressure is filled into the measuring chamber. After the measurement the hole is welded up by the laser beam. (DG)

Der Brennstab enthaelt Brennstofftabletten und steht unter einem Gasdruck von etwa 35 bar. Zur Qualitaetskontrolle wird ein Stabende in eine Messkammer gebracht und dort mittels eines Laserstrahls angebohrt. Anschliessend erfolgt eine Druckmessung nach der Nullabgleich-Messtechnik, wobei in die Messkammer He bekannten Druckes eingefuellt wird. Nach der Messung wird die Bohrung wieder mit dem Laserstrahl zugeschweisst. (DG)Files
