Brazilian NEPIO: History - In 2008 a Presidential Decree 2008 created the CDPNB Comittee for the Development of the National Nuclear Programme; Committee - Coordinated and led by the GSI (Presidency) Formed by State Ministers, Chief of Staff of Presicency, Defense, Foreign Affairs, Economy, Agriculture, Education, Health, Mines and Energy, Science and Technology, Environment reporting to the President; Technical Workgroups - First Workgroup: National Nuclear Policy, Other workgroups: Uranium mining, Nuclear Medicine, Structure of Regulator, Nuclear Applications in Agriculture, Nuclear Waste, Take Aways: Expanding Countries share many common issues with newcomers; A NEPIO is important even after the Nuclear Programme is developed (after phase III); Project management skills are fundamental in Newcomers; Support from IAEA.
