Extraskeletal mesenchymal chondrosarcoma: a case report

  • 1. Hospital Ramon y Cajal. Madrid (Spain)

Description

Extraskeletal mesenchymal chondrosarcoma (EMC) is a rare tumor that represents one of the few primary bone tumors occurring in soft tissue. It presents as a painful soft tissue mass. Imaging studies are nonspecific, but may be suggestive of the diagnosis, revealing the presence of a soft tissue mass with chondroid calcifications, no involvement of the underlying bone and contrast uptake. We present the case of a patient with EMC. The clinical and radiological findings were similar to those reported in the literature. (Author) 7 refs
