MAMMA. Contralateral MRI screening prolongs survival in breast carcinomas
Creators
Description
With increasing life expectancy, growing breast cancer incidence and improved therapeutic options, carcinomas of the contralateral breast are on the rise. Affected women have greater risk of distant metastases, shorter disease-free survival, and an overall poorer prognosis. Retrospective study demonstrates benefit of single contrast-enhanced MRI screening of the contralateral breast in patients with newly diagnosed breast carcinoma.

(© Thieme.
