The study of vapor film behavior in subcooled film boiling

  • 1. Tohoku Univ., Sendai (Japan). Faculty of Engineering

Description

The experimental work was performed to study the behavior of vapor film in saturated and subcooled film boiling. He-Ne Gas Laser beam is used for the measurement of vapor film thickness and its fluctuation. The film motion is affected by the subcooling temperature and heat flux. The vapor film fluctuation is more intense as increasing in heat flux, but comes to be less as increasing in the subcooling temperature. The spectrums and probability densities of vapor film fluctuation are obtained. (author)
