Description
Electronic structure of layered structure transition metal oxides are of special interest because they show drastic variations in their electronic properties on doping. We have measured photoelectron spectra of the series Sr2Ir1-xRuxO4 (x = 0.0, 0.4, 0.6, 0.9 and 1.0) using HeI radiation to determine the effect of x in the valence band region. We observed a sharp Fermi cut off with finite DOS at EF for both x = 0.9 and 1.0 samples and zero DOS at EF for other samples. (author)
