Decay dynamics of nonstationary open clusters

Creators

  • 1. University of the Urals Observatory, Sverdlovsk

Description

Computer simulation of the dynamics of nonisolated open clusters indicates, on the basis of a model halo zone expanding as weak stellar encounters relax the system, that member stars will intensively escape into the galactic force field. The old clusters M67 and NGC 188 are still far from a steady state
