A study of supertransferred hyperfine magnetic fields and relaxation by Dy3+ ions by Moessbauer spectroscopy of 57Fe and 119SNsup(m) in the pyrochlores Dy2Sn2O7 and Dy2FeSbO7
Description
Temperature-dependent line broadening in the Moessbauer spectra of the pyrochlores Dy2FeSbO7 and Dy2Sn2O7 is attributed to a hyperfine interaction at the 119Snsup(m) or 57Fe nuclei supertransferred via O2- ions from Dy3+. Relatively slow spin-lattice relaxation of Dy3+ occurs and the temperature dependence of the relaxation time is consistent with the occurrence of a two-phonon Orbach process. (author)
