Moment method calculations of nuclear level densities
Description
A summary of the limitations of level density calculations which omit the two-body force is presented. An alternative procedure which allows inclusion of such forces is now available. Some early results with these moment methods suggest that they will be very useful in level density calculations. Significant remaining problems include the uncertainty in some of the input parameters and the computer time demands of these calculations. 20 references
