Description

When the density of large transverse-momentum partons produced in hard collisions becomes very high in heavy-ion collisions at extremely high energies, hadronization by recombination is shown to be more important than jet fragmentation. How the two mechanisms of hadronization can be discerned observationally is discussed. (orig.)
