A note on the effects of screening on the electronic states of an atom embedded in a laser fusion plasma

Description
The changes induced in the electronic structure of an impurity ion embedded in a high-temperature dense electron plasma, simultaneously driven by an intense laser field, are discussed. It is shown that, at the laser-plasma resonance, the ground-state energy becomes a decreasing function of the laser intensity. (author)
