Dominant wind in the mid-latitude lower thermosphere depending on heliomagnetic activity

Description

Multiple correlations analysis is carried out by moving average values of the Vox zonal and Voy meridional predominant wind at the observatories Irkutsk, Sascatun and Kollm, the S10.7 solar radioemission and Ap geomagnetic planetary index for the 1982-1986 observation period. The results obtained show obvious presence of heliogeomagnetic control of the predominant winds in the lower thermosphere mid-latitudes which is particularly obvious during periods of the most intensive solar activity (proton flares) and is the Earth magnetic field (geomagnetic storms)
