Method of removing contaminated material

Description

Purpose: To easily and efficiently remove radioactive contaminated material deposited to the surface of facilities. Method: Coagulating liquids such as strippable paints are coated to the surface of contaminating materials deposited to the surface of facilities by using a wall surface robot, etc. Then, the surface of the facilities are rubbed by a brush to stir and mix the contaminating materials and the strippable paints. After the mixture is dried and coagulated, the coagulated layers are defoliated from the surface of the facilities. This enables to easily and efficiently remove the contaminating materials from the surface of the facilities at which the mixture is deposited to thereby make the operation automatic. In addition, the amount of the entire wastes generated can be decreased without scattering the contaminating materials nor causing secondary contaminations. (Seki, T.)
