A contribution of well logging to selection of the nuclear power plant location

Description

One of the basic conditions of selection of the safe variant of location and designing of the nuclear power plant is a proper survey of seismological, seismotectonic, hydrogeological and engineering-geological conditions. Evaluation of seismic, tectonic and engineering geological conditions is conducted in three concentric areas of radii - R=200 km, R=15 km, R≅1,5 km. Well logging and especially seismic methods play an important role in survey of seismologic and seismotectonic conditions of the area anticipated to location of the nuclear power plant. (author)
