Description

The subsurface borehole data pertaining to Turamdih West (Northern Ridge) uranium deposit, Singhbum district, Bihar has been statistically analysed to determine the cut-off grade by taking into account the excessive width of mineralised portion intercepted by series of boreholes. The uranium mineralisation, by and large, is bimodal, positively skewed and shows log-normal distribution. The variance of tenor in different transverse sections and continuity of mineralisation has been studied at various possible combinations of cut-off grade and thickness. It revealed a well correlatable persistent ore body at 0.020% e U3O8 cut-off grade and thickness, which is further confirmed by computing percent of absolute oxide content, percent of volume (V%) and percent of oxide recovery versus average grade of ore body.
