Magnetic structure in the 15-layer rhombohedral ErAl3
Description
Polarized recoil-free 80.6-keV gamma rays from 166Er show rhombohedral ErAl3 at 4.2 K to possess three monoclinic base-centred, antiferromagnetic Er Bravais sublattices with equal dimensions (a=1.0436 nm, b=0.6025 nm, c=1.239 nm, β=73.690). The Er moments' magnitudes (4.79, 5.97, and 7.1 μsub(B); abundance ratio of 2:2:1) and directions (all along 3- axis) are given. (Auth.)
