Description

Thermodynamic activity of Y2O3 in solid solutions of Y2O3-ZrO2 system and Gibbs formation energy of some phases in mentioned system at 1300 K were determined experimentally by the method of electromotive forces with solid fluorine-ionic electrolyte. Changes of Gibbs energy for reactions of formation of tetragonal (x=0.013; 0.02) and cubic (x=0.15; 0.25; 0.30) solid solutions in Y2O3-ZrO2 system of simple oxides equal 1.7+-0 1; 2.5+-0.1 and 19.2+0.4; 28.5+-0.4; 31.8+-0.4 kJ/mol for (Ysub(2)Osub(3))sub(x)(ZrOsub(2))sub(1-x) (x=0.013-0.35) compounds respectively. It is shown that cubic solid solution in Y2O3-ZrO2 system is more thermodynamically stable with respect to initial simple oxides as compared to similar solid solution in CaO-ZrO2 system
