The magnetic susceptibilities of EuBa2Cu3O7 and SmBa2Cu3O7
- 1. Argonne National Lab., IL (United States)
Description
The experimentally determined magnetic susceptibilities, as a function of temperature, of EuBa2Cu3O7 and SmBa2Cu3O7 are presented. The Curie plots (χ-1 vs T) are non-linear because of low-lying excited states. These experimental results are compared with susceptibilities calculated from wavefunctions obtained by interpolating previously determined crystal field parameters for Ho, Pr and Nd in the same lattice
