Description
Neutron spectra in coincidence with fission fragments have been measured for the 190 MeV 28Si+76Ge populating 104Pd compound nucleus at Ex∼133 MeV excitation energy. The extracted prescission multiplicity for symmetric splitting is νpre=1.1±0.2. The average fission time τF=6-2+3x10-20 s is determined, in good agreement with the systematics of Hinde et al. for heavier systems (A≥125 compound nuclei)
