Seismic analysis of secondary systems with multiple supports

Description
An analytical formulation for seismic analysis of multiple connected secondary systems is presented. The formulation leads to the development of a new response spectrum aproach for the analysis of secondary systems. The seismic input in this approach is required to be defined in terms of auto and cross pseudo-acceleration and relative velocity floor response spectra. The cross spectra comprise of the coincident and quadrature spectra for pseudo-acceleration and relative velocity response of an oscillator. By the analysis of the supporting primary structure, these auto and cross spectra can be directly obtained from the ground response spectra. An effective use of these spectra for the calculation of secondary system response is demonstrated by a numerical example. (Author)

Apresenta-se uma formulacao analitica para analise sismica de sistemas secundarios com conexoes multiplas. A formulacao leva ao desenvolvimento de um novo espectro de resposta para a analise de sistemas secundarios. A entrada sismica nesse aspecto e feita para ser definida em termos de uma pseudo aceleracao e uma velocidade relativa do espectro de resposta do chao. O espectro de choque compreende o espectro de quadratura e coincidente para pseudo- aceleracao e velocidade relativa de resposta de um oscilador. Pela analise da estrutura primaria de suporte, esses espectros podem ser diretamente obtidos do espectro de resposta do chao. Demonstra-se o uso efetivo desse espectro para calculo do sistema secundario de resposta por um exemplo numerico. (E.G.)Additional details
