Human Resource Development Activities at the University of Tokyo Towards A Proactive Nuclear Regulatory

Description

The University of Tokyo has launched a four-year project for strategic human resource development named as "Human Resource Development for Proactive Regulation which is supported by Japan's Nuclear Regulation Agency (NRA) from fiscal years 2016 to 2019. The project is designed based on the lessons learned from Fukushima Daiichi NPP accident (FDA). In the frame of this project, a human resource capacity having international perspectives is aimed to be developed. The prospective experts are those with the capability and willingness to actively participate in the consensus building process for the international standards of the IAEA as a leading role. They may recognize similarity and difference of the regulatory framework of different countries, as well as they can make reasonable decisions, e.g., To implement national codes and standards in a timely manner consulting with the stakeholders in a variety of perspectives.
