Update on microstructural characteristics and structure-property correlations in cuprate high temperature superconductors

  • 1. Banaras Hindu Univ., Varanasi (India). Dept. of Physics

Description

In the last two years or so there have been several unique microstructural characteristics observed in cuprate high temperature superconductors. While some of these have been noticed while probing the perfection of the as synthesized/grown HTSC materials, the other microstructures have resulted when attempts have been made to tailor made the HTSC's to optimize their properties, for example the critical current density Jc. These microstructural characteristics are described. (author). 5 refs
