Con Edison has undertaken four research and development programmes utilising the Indian Point Unit 1 plant: (i) chemical cleaning of the secondary side of nuclear steam generators; (ii) decontamination of nuclear components; (iii) acoustic monitoring; and (iv) vibration testing.
