Description

Some optical and electrical phenomena of multicomponent alumino-phosphate glasses dopped with manganese (0.01-20 mol%) have been measured at different temperature. Irradiation and heating effect becomes evident by a stable absorption band at about 235 nm. The process is irreversible. The absorption bands of electron, hole and manganese (luminescence) centres were found. The role of these centres in fluorescence (FL) and termoluminescence (TL) is discussed. The colour shift of emission bands with temperature and Mn concentration are explained. The possible role of protons and hydroxyl groups is indicated. (author)
