Induction linear accelerator
Description
Design and operation principle of a linear accelerator containing a pulsed supply system with switching chokes and an induction system produced in the form of shielded radial lines are described. To increase the accelerated particle mean intensity the radial line internal cavities are filled with media with different dielectric permeability values. Commutating elements of the accelerator described are produced in the form of transmission line coaxial sections filled with ferromagnetic nonlinear medium. Processes of energy transfer from capacitor through the switcing choke into the radial lines are considered in detail. Application of the given invention allows one to increase the accelerator operation efficiency
