Near strong earthquake observation at underground power plants and a rock fill dam

  • 1. Central Research Inst. of Electric Power Industry, Abiko, Chiba (Japan). Civil Engineering Lab.

Description

The earthquake observations at Shiroyama hydraulic underground power station, Tsukui P.S. and Ochiai semi-underground power station have been carried for the research in CRIEPI in order to forecast the dynamic behavior of the cavern of underground nuclear power plants. However, the earthquake observations at Honzuwa rock fill dam too have been carried in order to investigate the loss of the imput earthquake intensity. The South-Eastern Yamanashi Pref. Earthquake, of which the magnitude is 6.0, has happened within 16 km from the above each observation point. Good waves of acceleration and dynamic strain for the above earthquake were observed. This report summarizes the main shock data. For convenience, the data in this report is only limited to explain wave forms, power spectrum and response spectrum. (author)
