The elastic-plastic interference of J-integrals between a pair of co-linear cracks
Description
In this paper, the interference of J integrals between a pair of co-linear cracks in elastic-plastic regime under plane stress condition has been investigated by means of incremental theory elastic-plastic finite element method. The investigations show that the interference of J-integrals obtained from finite element calculation is equivalent to that of J-integrals converted from K factors in elastic regime but much different from that in elastic-plastic regime. In order to evaluate the interference of J-integrals between a pair of co-linear cracks in elastic-plastic regime, a set of approximate solutions which are similar with the EPRI fully plastic solutions have been given in the paper. Therefore, the interferential solutions have been given in the paper. Therefore, the interferential factors of J-integrals between a pair of co-linear cracks in the elastic-plastic regime can be obtained from these solutions
