On the trace anomaly of the energy-momentum tensor from the one-loop effective Lagrangian in QED

Using the results on one-loop corrections to the effective Lagrangian in QED for constant prescribed electromagnetic fields, we demonstrate a new way to derive the trace anomaly in spinor and scalar QED. (author)
