Model for the orientation, magnetic field, and temperature dependence of the specific heat of CeCu6
Description
The results of a model calculation of the orientation, magnetic field, and temperature dependence of the specific heat C of CeCu6 are found to be in good agreement with the single-crystal data of Amato et al. The model incorporates both the Kondo and crystal-field effects. It is suggested that the low-temperature Wilson's ratio CTchi, where chi is the susceptibility, may not change in an applied field H and that both CT and chi at low temperatures as a function of H may be proportional to the many-body density of states at the energy μH
