EPR of Cu+2 spins in Y2Cu2O5
Description
EPR spectra of Y2O3-CuO reacted at various temperatures has been investigated. Different types of spectra are recorded on calculation of different temperatures. The most important feature is the occurrence of four line spectra, which has been assigned to the total electronic spin S=2 obtained through superexchange among four Cu+2 ions through intervening oxygen ions in the clusters (CuO)4. These clusters show an EPR spectrum when magnetically isolated from the bulk. (author)
