Description

The author discusses basic radiation protection concepts with regard to environmental impact of nuclear installations during normal operation, incidents and major accidents. The considerations are extended to widespread radioactive contaminations from various sources. The conclusion is drawn that concepts and methods of radiation protection can be exemplary to the solution of other environmental pollution problems, provided the specific peculiarities of each case are taken into account. Abstract (German)

Im Rahmen des Themas werden Grundueberlegungen des Strahlenschutzes bezueglich der Umweltauswirkungen kerntechnischer Anlagen im bestimmungsgemaessen Betrieb, beim Stoerfall und beim Unfall abgehandelt. Insbesondere werden auch Strahlenschutzaspekte bei einer gorssraeumigen radioaktiven Kontamination, die verschiedene Ursachen haben kann, angeschnitten. Die Schlussfolgerung wird gezogen, dass Konzepte und Methoden des Strahlenschutzes unter Beachtung der jeweiligen spezifischen Besonderheiten Vorbild bei der Loesung anderer Umweltprobleme sein koennen.
