Preliminary tests of BeO OSL dosimeters for clinical beam characterization in the conventional radiology range

Description
This work presents preliminary characterization of conventional radiography equipment using OSL beryllium oxide dosimeters. Despite being vastly used in personal dosimetry, the use of OSL dosimeters in conventional radiography equipment is yet limited, because of that, we are using OSL dosimeters for that, the final goal is a complete characterization of this dosimeters, showing its sensibility, dose linearity and energy dependence. To this moment, we submitted these dosimeters to a reproducibility test, using a portable fountain, a dose-response test and a half-value layer test,using a conventional radiology equipment. The results accorded with the results obtained using an Ion Chamber,a gold standard equipment. (author)
