Creators

Description

70% of the energy demand of India is met by oil imports and only 3% of its electricity is produced from nuclear energy. The Indian authorities wish to see the contribution of nuclear energy in electricity generation to reach 25% by 2050 at the latest. India and the Usa signed a cooperation agreement in october 2008 and 2 sites have been selected to home nuclear power plants from American design. The cooperation of India and France is strengthening. Areva has made a bid for the feasibility studies and the construction of 2 EPR on the Jaitapur site (Maharastra state). This bid involves various partnerships with Indian companies concerning engineering and the forging of components. (A.C.)
