Electrochemical behaviours of scandium in chloride melts

Description
Electrochemical behaviour of scandium(3) ions in an eutectic melt of NaCl-KCl-CsCl at 810-850 K is studied by cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The process of cathodic reduction of scandium complex ions in chloride melts is found to proceed according to the scheme: Sc(3) → Sc(0) and to be controlled by the rate of ScCl63- complex dissociation
Abstract (Russian)
С использованием методов циклической вольамперометрии и хроноамперометрии изучено электрохимическое поведение ионов скандия(3) в эвтектическом расплаве NaCl-KCl-CsCl при температурах 810-850 К. Установлено, что процесс катодного восстановления комплексных ионов скандия в хлоридных расплавах протекает по схеме Sc(3) → Sc(0) и лимитируется скоростью диссоциации комплексов ScCl63-Additional details
