Description

The acoustic noise was measured and images were evaluated in TSE (turbo spin echo), GE (gradient echo) and FLAIR (fluid attenuated inversion recovery) pulse sequences according to the opening and closing of the MR test room of 1.5T and 3.0T. The 1.5T and 3.0T MR and the ACR phantom were used to measure the noise due to opening and closing of the door according to the pulse sequence. Statistical analysis of the signifcance test was performed using paired t-test. The images were measured by using ImageJ program to measure SNR, PSNR, RMSE, and MAE. At 1.5T the average acoustic noise is when the room door is opened TSE (61.75 dB), FLAIR (57 dB) and GE (48.7 dB) when the door was closed. At the time of opening the 3.0T room, TSE (88.35 dB), FLAIR (74.85 dB), GE (67.1 dB), TSE (60.4 dB), FLAIR (59.8 dB) and GE (46.7 dB) were closed when the door was opened. When closed, the acoustic noise reduction was decreased from 1.5T to 27.4% for GE, 25.9% for TSE, 22.6% for FLAIR, 46.2% for TSE, 43.6% for GE, and 25.1% (p<.05), and the pulse sequence according to the noise was statistically signifcant (p<.05). In the ACR phantom image, PSNR was 32.189 dB at 1.5T, 3.0T was 30.361 dB, and RMSE and MAE were 11.183, 6.361, and 3.0T, respectively, at 33.43 and 21.475. 1.5T, GE, TSE, FLAIR, 3.0T, TSE, GE, and FLAIR, respectively, and noise reduction was confrmed when the door was closed
