Establishment of a veterinary radiation therapy center, challenges and constraints

Radiotherapy is of undeniable medical interest, the mechanisms of which are partially elucidated and presented in this work, and needs to become more accessible to owners in order to improve the care offered. The next step in this project was to examine the strategic and financial issues involved in creating this service. This will enable us to take a global view of the project, assessing its reliability and profitability. To do this, we were able to talk to various players in the sector: clinics equipped with experience, accredited inspection bodies and suppliers. We were able to draw up our recommendations for setting up a radiotherapy department. The most relevant is a gradual introduction of radiotherapy, containing costs during the first 'test' years with a less expensive radiotherapy machine. However, we felt that the infrastructure should already be adapted to accommodate a more powerful machine, so as not to multiply construction costs
